Reach out to professors at prospective universities to see if they’d be willing to mentor you when you arrive. Tailor your application to the specific program and university you’re applying to – let them know if there is a certain professor you want to study under, or if there is a specific module that you want to choose, and explain how this will further your career path.
The UK was a far more affordable choice than the US, and I was more comfortable with the teaching style of the faculty here. Nottingham in particular is known for its excellent international law faculty, and also offers generous scholarships. It has an excellent careers and legal skills department, which aids students in securing internships and placements.
When I presented an original research paper at a conference sponsored by the ICRC. It was my first conference, but the support I received from my professors and colleagues gave me so much confidence.
