Where did you complete your LLM from?

NYU School of Law. Although I almost went to Georgetown but at the last minute decided on New York, New York and I am so happy for that.

Did you pursue any specialization? If yes, why did you choose that?

No I did not choose any of the offered specializations, I did the Traditional LLM. However I chose subjects so that I could specialize in international finance and regulation. I also cross registered for some courses with Stern School of Business to get a better understanding of finance and securities.

Any advice for prospective LLM applicants for the application process?

Make sure you write your application essay very concisely. And always have a resume that is less than one page. Start applying for scholarships early. As early as possible.

Are you planning to give the bar exam? Any advice for that?

Yes, I gave the bar exam and in hindsight it was a good decision. Don’t underestimate the preparation that goes into the bar exam, follow the schedule. Also maintain a strong support system (your S/O, friends, family will be your best cheerleaders during this time) during the bar prep, it will be the biggest factor if you pass the bar.

One fond memory of the LLM Program for you.

Studying late for the Ethics exam and ending up at Sammy’s Halal
